PSP KnockOFF

Sunday, January 29th, 2006

I came across this funny psp rip the other day up in the Queen Vic Markets here in Melbourne, Australia.

Psp Rip

Its so funny, what these guys over in China / Taiwan try to do in-order to sell there products to consumers. However you would have to be rather stupid to buy one in the first-place, if you ask me.

If only you could get a real PSP for $12AU.

LOL SO Funny.

A couple of cool Mac shortcuts.

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

Just now, while looking for the shortcut to force shutdown of my mac i stumbled across a couple of cool shortcuts for Apple’s Mac OS X.

firstly while your CMD( / apple / win) + Tab’bing through open applications if you hit “q” the currently selected application will be quit. this in the long run becomes a great way to close multiple applications in quick succession.

The other shortcut involves cycling though windows in an app with more than one window open. You can achieve this by pressing CMD( / apple / win) + the “`” (back tick / ~) key located just above the tab key.

Im putting these here so as to not forget them in the future, and it also means that the all you other users out there can also benefit from these shortcuts.

To shutdown gracefully the command is command-option-control-eject , however i still haven’t found the force shutdown command. If you know it, leave a comment.

Windows Media Components for QuickTime

Friday, January 13th, 2006

Now heres some good news for us mac people, Windows Media® Components for QuickTime is now available from Microsoft for free.

This plugin allows you to watch wmv files in Quicktime, which until now was only available by purchasing a plugin from a small company called flip4mac. Microsoft seem to have taken the plugin from flip4mac and are now distributing it for free from there website.

Good news for all i guess.

MacWorld 2006 Keynote New Hardware

Wednesday, January 11th, 2006

You should have a look at the two new pieces of Apple kit.

the MacBook Pro
and the Intel iMac.

Both contain dual core (”Intel Core Duo”) processors and will be available in the next month or so, sooner for the iMac i believe.

I might just have to treat myself to a new MacBook Pro!

A new phone and a new plan.

Thursday, January 5th, 2006

Yes its true, im no longer a Vodafone customer, they have been good to me over the years however i felt like it was time for a change.

So today i switched to one of Three’s new offerings, a $29 a month capped plan that allows me to use around 100mins of talk time to any landline or mobile in australia (or overseas) + another 70mins to any other Three subscribers. Quite good value if you ask me.

Anyway the best bit is that along with the new plan i received a new phone, capable of accessing “Three’s” 3g Network content and making and receiving video calls.

So i am now the proud owner of a new Sony Ericsson K608i. see photo.

PS: Dont worry my mobile number is still the same, i ported it over from Vodafone, which only took 3 bloody hours. ( Sure it might not seem all that long for what they must actually have to do to get it to work behind the scenes, however when the woman in the store says it would be 20 minutes maximum it would be nice it it was true.

anyway, goodnight for now.

Happy New Year - Welcome 2006

Sunday, January 1st, 2006

Well it is once again a new year! Hopefully this one will be super duper fabulous for everyone. If all goes to plan we had a cocktail night at Pant’s last night, with all sorts of tasty alcoholic beverages.

New years resolution: (Haha), get window tinting for my car, and maybe loose a few kilo’s. All good for me.

Hope you all had fun down at Triangle festival on Philip Island, those of you who went, what a great way to see the new year into existence.

Did you see the fireworks? there were quite good this year, although not quit the same as back in 2000.
