iPod Video…

Monday, October 31st, 2005

After being iPodless for the past week i have received my 60Gb Black iPod with Video from Apple. The screen is insanely clear and the battery life is better than ever, 20 hours for audio. It however only plays video for 3 hours before it needs charging again, so ill have to be careful not to over do it!.

There are some good apps out there to convert to one of the iPod formats such as handbrake which converts DVD’s to ipod on a mac, and for you pc users have a look at Videora iPod Converter that will convert from .wmv .mov .avi .mpeg .mpg to either of the the ipods h264 320×240 or mpeg4 between 480×480 pixels.

Two cool new apps.

Saturday, October 15th, 2005

Today i bring you two new (to me anyway) Mac OS X Apps.

HandBrake
A DVD converter that creates Divx, Mpeg4 and h.264 movie files. This app is really good, has a nice speed advantage over Apples Quicktime Pro and works really well to convert video into files compatible with the new iPod With Video.

Handbrake v7.0.03beta

Transmission
The best ever Bit-Torrent app for Mac OS X…….. ever!
Its at-least 10x better than its nearest competitor Azeurous which is a slow and cumbersome Java app. Transmission is written in C and runs nicely in the background without hogging up all your CPU cycles.

Transmission v0.2

Thought you would like links to these two app’s and till next time au revoir.

I have at long last updated this blog to wp 1.5.2! It took most of the arvo to create a new template for the design of the site, but now that i have it’s much more portable and will allow me to apply updates as they come out without breaking everything!

Anyway ill get back to fixing the remainder of bugs now, so stay
tuned for more updates in the near future.
