What is it with Tom and Maths?

Monday, August 30th, 2004

hmmm. well it appears that i have a trial methods exam tomorrow. It shall be interesting, because it’s being done on a computer, part of a vcaa trial that will probably see this sort of testing for all our exams in the future.

My handwriting is so bad, which is bad for english and literature, id much prefer to type it up on a computer any day. As long as it actually had a spell check in the application.

Also tomorrow is Tom’s 17th Birthday, so i wish him well, to bad he also has to do the trial exam tomorrow, kinda sucks being his birthday and all….
O well had better go now…

Catch up with everyone tomorrow.

A Moving Tribute

Mac OS X Image Tool’s.

Tuesday, August 24th, 2004

Well tonight i went on the search for some cool image manipulation tools. One to rotate images Smartly, ie. Detect if it was taken vertically or horizontally and adjust the image scaling pattern and secondly an image viewer, to show images quickly, allowing for easy sorting of the good from the bad.

The first app is called Easy Batch Image. Downloadable from here. It does all that I asked and more. Allowing for overlaying of watermarks as-well…

The second is called Photo Reviewer 1.3. Available from here.
it’s really fast, allows for one click sorting or deleting, and is so much better than ACDsee for mac. Basically it has a simpler interface.

Ask for serial information if you like.

A little bit of this… A little bit of that…

Tuesday, August 24th, 2004

Well im sitting at school at the moment, its a nice day outside and the last class that i had today was canceled, so in essence i only had one class today, English.

English was interesting enough, basically finishing going over the current book “Border Crossing”, while at the same time watching part of “Borne Supremacy“, and a little bit of Shrek 2. I also played around with Blue-Tooth in class today, noticing that there were 4 phones in range of my ibook, in the one class.. (Even managing to grab a photo of someone’s CC from Weng’s phone over the blue-tooth link)

Today was also SS Winter Sport and Club Photo day, which meant that at-least an hour of my time was taken up with the year 12 class photo, this meant that i missed out on Chemistry.

This coming thursday, is some uni discovery day which means that, apart from getting some time off school that i will be up in the city, visiting Melbourne University. hopefully its a worthwhile experience.

Tattoo 2004.

Thursday, August 19th, 2004

Well yesterday was the opening night of the Tattoo for 2004, and it was interesting to say the least.

Stu and i dealt with enough little kiddies last night to really have had enough of them, however they are all really cute, and when they actually have music to perform to some of there act’s can be slightly entertaining.

In some ways i feel sorry for them. for instance there was one group of little kiddies, i think they were the “Urban Tribal Group” that basically spent 15min’s standing outside in the freezing cold in bare feat and nothing more than loin cloth’s.. Whoever created the costumes for them obviously had no idea of what exactly they would have to do in them. (anyone who has ever been to haileybury knows just how cold the Keysborough campus can get.)

In other news I have started working on a search function for this site. Atm its very very raw, and yes Tom it’s based around your search function. So yea i have been busy this week. oh yea… its here

Have you ever felt like burying someone in concrete because they just wont shut up?

Ever had the urge to kill someone really really annoying with that surprise you have in your violin Case?

NO? then im afraid you just wouldn’t cut it as a gangster.

The Saturday just gone was Hannah’s 18th. The theme of the night was “Gangster’s and Flapper’s” and most notably almost everyone pulled it off extremely well.

Pic’s are now up in the Image gallery. Take a peek.

also happy birthday to Liz and Stu.

So if you frequent any pub’s or bar’s around this end of town watch out for the “Fiery Redhead” and the “Angry Scotsman”.

Piece Out - Richie

PS: i didn’t end up getting hit this weekend which is a marked improvement from last weekend.

Images, Images Everywhere.

Monday, August 9th, 2004

Well these last few days have been interesting. From the 2004 Tattoo Bump-in to getting “Bumped” on the head at liz’s 18th, its been a funny few old days.

My last few days basicly went somthing like this:

Friday: All day tattoo bump-in. left school around 10:30pm thanks goes to Stu. for the lift back to Mountie.

Saturday: Did some math’s work in the morning, then off to Liz’s 18th with Kinsey in tow. A good night all-around. (Yes i did get hit in the face by some idiot). Happy 18th Liz.

Sunday: got up around 10:30am. Got ready to leave for melbourne, to have a look at RMIT and the NGV. Thanks to Barbara and Liz for the lift up into melbourne. RMIT was interesting. Good Campus in Melb. So much nicer than Monash Clayton.
Ended up meeting up with Pant around 3:30 and after having a quick look at his course we headed of back to Hail to do a few hours of Light Programing.
Hungary Jack’s was the order of the day so we went to grab some. The Store was so unbelievably slow we seriously waited about 25mins for our meals. literally watching them be made.

As James said, it was the first time that he had ever had enough time to stop and examine their store processes. even going so far as to comment on the burger status display that still had an old DOS curser refreshing the display every 10s. (All very interesting when your starving.)

Monday: Almost normal school day, however there was a Jr school tattoo rehersal on today that was quite interesting as was the Unit-4 Drama class, were a chipboard war took place within the confines of D2.

Also, spend some time checking out the updated Image Gallery found here.

- Catch u later. Richard.

Tattoo. Its Coming Fast…

Thursday, August 5th, 2004

Haileybury’s biannual Tattoo is fast approaching with the lighting rig being bumped in tomorrow and load’s and load’s of rehearsals coming up in the next few weeks.

There are always a few busy weeks a year where everything becomes rather hectic. Especially in the drama and music department’s and these coming few weeks are no exception.

My personal calendar is also rather full at the moment with 18th’s, birthday’s, social get-together’s and university open days all coming up.

Also the snow this year is apparently fabulous, with over 2m of snow up at our favorite destination Mt Hotham. (hopefully we will make it up again soon.)

Tomorrow will be an interesting and entertaining day to say the least.
